MANDELA DAY 2018 SAVE OUR PLANET AND LEAVE A LEGACY INITIATED BY JACARANDA ACADEMY

On Mandela Day, 18th July 2018 Jacaranda Academy launched the “ Save our Planet and Leave a Legacy Initiative”

Our aim is to collect 6 700kg of paper for recycling over the next 67 days! We will also collect glass for a local animal rescue centre and plastic bottles to give to the neighbourhood trolley collectors. We are calling on all our neighbours- individuals, families, businesses and schools to support our Mandela Day initiative.

 Why you should become involved:

  • This is a project for the community initiated by Jacaranda Academy
  • Our aim is to involve all local residents, businesses and schools
  • This will be an ongoing project, with the ultimate aim of reducing waste and making a difference to our environment and to our planet, by saving precious resources.
  • Reducing, reusing and recycling should become a way a life

What can be recycled?

  • Start collecting paper to contribute now! Most kinds of paper can be recycled – newspaper, egg cartons, packaging boxes, telephone directories, magazines and milk cartons.
  • All types of glass bottles and containers

YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO BRING YOUR GLASS AND PAPER FOR RECYCLING TO JACARANDA ACADEMY AND TO COME AND ENJOY A CUP OF TEA AND A CHAT WITH US.
